Bridging the distance: Cloud Clinic AI and Al-Khidmat Foundation bring telemedicine across Pakistan
A partnership built to put licensed clinicians, diagnostic devices, and virtual clinics within reach of communities that wait too long for care.
Distance is still one of the most reliable predictors of delayed care. For families outside major hospital catchments, a routine consult can mean lost wages, overnight travel, and a waiting room that does not guarantee a diagnosis.
Cloud Clinic AI and Al-Khidmat Foundation set out to change that pattern in Pakistan: virtual clinics that are not a watered-down video chat, but a clinical encounter with intake, records, and — where the site is equipped — live diagnostic devices.
The model is hybrid by design. Patients can start at a nearby facility, speak with a receptionist, complete electronic history, and meet a doctor who can examine as if they were in the same room. When the workflow requires it, a rider can go to the patient instead.
That matters for NGOs and community programs. Staff need a platform that hospitals, specialists, and field sites can share — with prescriptions and assessments delivered by SMS or email, not paper that never arrives.
The work is ongoing. Expanding telemedicine across Pakistan is not a single launch; it is a sequence of sites, trained operators, and clinicians who trust the tools in front of them. The partnership exists to make that sequence real.
